07 Bluetech - Camshaft hall sensor code

I've had a very intermittent fault code with a no signal condition from B6/1 (Camshaft Hall Sensor). The fault count in the past was 1 every 8-10k miles. Recently however the count jumped to 153 in less than 1k miles. No engine MIL, no observable drive problems.

I'd do the full diagnosis, but I have to wait for a friend with an oscilloscope.

Can someone also direct me to the right place in the EPC for this part? I can't seem to find it easily.

See the screen shot attachments.....

You can search EPC for the part number A0051531328 or after entering the VIN, select major assembly Engine and then group 15, engine electrical equipment.

Thanks - I found it. Only around $28 at parts.com (which is typically fulfilled by Mercedes-Benz of Naperville in Illinois). Oddly enough, the "heavy discounter" Rock auto has the same part at around $110 for an aftermarket brand. Pays to shop around.

Was not sure if I needed the sealing rings and plug gaskets to go along with it, but my total bill was still less than $50 including Fedex shipping.

I'm slowly hoping that these incremental DIY fixes are paying for my investment of the Star Diagnosis unit. I'm pretty sure I'd be out at least $500, if I had to do this at a dealership. I'm wondering if me replacing it pre-emptively also prevented a potential no-start or future stall condition, and the resulting inconvenience and towing.
