opinions on higher wattage high beams........
thanks to all for the great input and pics regarding: lights/aftermarket. I have just ordered pairs of what was suggested and hopefully will have all by weeks end.
Question: has anyone noticed that the H7 (high beam bulb) is also available in 70w and 100w? I ordered the 55w as the manual states but wonder if someone out there has an opinion on the higher wattage bulbs for the high beams.

I've used higher wattage bulbs in the past on various cars without problems.
Known issues are the High Heat and possible damage to lens, reflectors and the bulb socket/base that secures the bulb.
With the high quality of light now produced from PIAA, etc. today, I don't believe the same benefit going to high wattage bulbs will be realized and therefore, not worth the risk.
My $0.02..... Mark

thanks for the replies. I may experiment with the 70watt H7 bulbs as they are only 15 watts higher than OEM. I'll post results ...........

installed all 3 pair of bulbs yesterday. took 30 to 40 minutes at a nice slow pace. very easy!! put in the 70w H7 high beams instead of the 55w. all looks great - bright white and no problems!
