New W211 Owner
I just purchased my Arctic White 2009 W211 last week with 35k miles from House of Imports in Buena Park, CA
See below for the couple pictures I have of it.
I'm looking to get some stuff done for the car and would appreciate any information regarding the following mods:
1) Lighting - looking to swap get 6K HID Low's & Fog's and 6K led turn signal and license plate lamps

2) Painted reflector

3) Lowering - I prefer links, but not sure if my cars equipped with airmatic. Any quick way of finding out? Or springs that lower 1.2-1.5 inches.

4) Spacers - For my stock AMG wheels. Looking for a flush setup.
Any and all help is much appreciated.

Thanks,
When it comes to dealers, thats the dealer I go to also.
Your car should have a button in between the D for drive, and the cup holder, which will change the suspension dynamics from Sport 1, Sport 2 and Comfort.
Lowering may be possible with the Mercedes STAR diagnostic computer, but i'm not sure if the dealer will do this for you, you may have to visit the independents who have a STAR machine.
Welcome to the club!
2. Reflectors can be painted, but smoked and clear are on ebay, about $44.
3. I don't think your 350 has air, or had air as an option. You would be able to get any spring/strut combo.. check the classifieds, search for W211, you will find some used pairs nicely broken in already.
4. I am not into spacers, no advice there.
When you need service, check with Foothill Ranch, they are out pretty far and isolated and have service specials to bring people in.
The service tech over at fletcher jones and do the star mod to have your right side mirror drop down in reverse, if you get a free day to go over there.
It's nice to not paint IMO them since they have a light in them. (FYI: I'm a dealer for NOKYA if you need anything from them)
MB4tronic: Thanks for your advice, I'll PM AZNOptics to see what his rates are for lighting mods.
XLR82XS: I'm not too fond of Nokya bulbs as I've had them previously and they weren't as bright or white as advertised. But if Nokya makes LED blinkers (front and rear) and LED interior lights then I'd be interested to see how they look. Can you please PM me some prices? Thanks in advance.
fila0220: Did you get it painted at a body shop? Oor buy a painted set from a vendor?
Is there a picture thread dedicated to white W211's? Looking for some fresh ideas and solutions to different mods.

I tried to pry out the side markers to get the ebay lights. But for some reason i couldn't. Apperently i had to take the bumper off to unscrew it. So i went with spray painting it at a body shop. They just taped up around the side marker. Sprayed 1 coat of black. waited 5 mins. sprayed another coat of black. waited 5 mins, then sprayed a clear coat. I love the look of it. The light still shines thru a little bit, but i think an extra coating will fix that.
As for white w211, i would recommend going on cardomain searches, there are plenty clean ones there. Here is one for example

I also changed the grill to the “CL” style, added a flat badge (again, eBay) and a trunk lip spoiler. Have fun, and again, welcome.

)the comfort and sport is for the transmission (C/S). C starts car off in 2nd gear and shifts at lower rpm (used to be called W for WET ie when it rains), S starts car off in 1st gear and has higher shift points. to be honest i've never noticed a mpg difference between the 2, i mean you can still drive like a maniac in C by stomping on the thing lol
regarding painted side markers, you can just have the bumper side lights turned off through STAR once you get them painted (since many ROW cars do not have sidelamps). then there will be no shine through
They did all the work on my W211 and W212.
You can check out the pics of the work in the links in my sig.
EmE247 is HMS still around? I had a buddy call for me and said their # is disconnected.
@MikeW: I was actually interested in doing the "CL" style grill, but I think I'm going to hold off now. Not at all what I had expected. Thanks!
@gaazmon: Do you know any independent shops that can code some options for my car via STAR?
Thanks again!
Anybody have a definite answer? Or know of other companies that will lower the car around 2"?
Thanks,
Front 20x8.5 25 offset (245/25/20)
Rear 20x10 35 offset (285/20/20)
Anyone know if this will work on our cars without rubbing? Looking to lower it on coilovers as well.

Agree!
