So what is the Shell Part number for a 2003 E320 W211 transmission? Mercedes per quart is over $20. I have heard Pentosin makes 134 fluid as well. My car has low RPM when in the D position and at a stop light, etc. When in park, it hums along just fine. Only in Drive does it act this way. I also have high shift points when normally accelerating (2200-2800 RPM). I have not changed fluid, and I am going to change the plugs as it is time for it now. I also thought about a transmission mount since it only seems to be happening in drive. PLEASE HELP! I do not want to perform exploratory surgery on this thing. I will also try the reset suggestion and ensure the air filter box is properly seated on the MAF. THANK YOU ALL IN ADVANCE!!!

It's called Shell ATF 134.
Are you doing a full flush with filter and 13 pin electrical transmission plug? If you do make sure you get the OEM Mercedes 13 pin plug since aftermarket can have the incorrect O-ring specs.
Transmission mount is cheap and easy to change, so its a good idea.
Be careful changing plugs. Often the plug leads are hard to get off and its not always obvious when they are reconnected/ seated properly on the plugs. That then causes more problems.

Shell ATF 134

The transmission fluid is Shell ATF 134. Ryder Products used to sell it for less than $5 / qt but they don't seem to any longer. You need to look for a source for this, or phone Shell to see who is your local distributor. Business on ebay are selling it for $95 for a case of 12.

MB ATF cost just slightly above $10.
Doing 5l service you can save about 10 bucks using Shell ATF, but don't be like one of those MB owners who saved $3 on Zerex coolant and later start topics "why is my engine overheating"

I was just going to install the transmission mount and doe the gasket and transmission filter change. I think it is about 5 quarts or so. I called mercedes here and they said all they do for the "flush" is drain the pan, replace gasket and filter, and then fill it back up. They apparently do not completely drain the torque converter or anything. So, other than the filter kit and fluid, is there anything else I may need?

Pilot bushing is a must and also get a can of MAF cleaner to give the plug good bath.
Leave the pan off overnight, what will get you additional 1 -1.5l drip.
Just dropping the pan gets about 2.6l and that is what dealer usually do.

So what is a pilot bushing? What does it do? I will clean the MAF and replace the air filters too. It is maintenance time. I just get nervous with transmissions. What is the fill process and and how to check the level? Is there a link to EXACTLY how to perform THIS procedure as well as the Tranny mount too? Again, thank you all for helping me with this!

Pilot bushing has orings on it, who age and leak costing electronic shorts. Orings are not sold separately, so you have to spend 10 bucks. Beware that new orings are hard to push in and don't bend pins in the process. Lube new orings with ATF and pay attention to the bushing position. Best -take a picture of old bushing before removal.
The best price I found was on Amazon sold under Mopar brand, what is original MB bushing made in Czech Republic. Part 2035400253
Avoid other brands.
I saw service topics on the net, but there is not really that much to show.
For fluid refill the best way is to measure drained ATF and refill the same amount. Than recheck with dipstick on hot transmission to make sure.

Ok, so what exactly does this part do and where is it located? This is VERY new to me. Sorry to ask so many questions, but I just want to be sure and be informed. VERY thankful for all the input!

The transmission is filled up with ATF and having electric plate inside.
Pilot bushing seals connection between plate outlet and outside harness plug, otherwise the ATF would drip on the floor.
Unintended effect is that when internal oring leaks and external oring holds - the ATF is carried by capillary action up to TCU making additional mess there.

You can find a Shell distributor in the US with this link:

http://www.shell.us/business-custome...RzL3B1YmxpYy8=

It typically just lists the headquarters of the place that sells Shell ATF 134, they may have other locations in the state. Last time I got a case of 12, it was around $62 so a little over $5 a quart.

Try this

I had same issue and it ended up being the transmission solenoids in my valve body conductor plate. No more bucking or jerking!

Someone had this issue???

faulty plug? elaborate.... if it's anything related to valve body then you have more dissecting to do!

When this plug is wet with trans fluid it shifts weird.

now all my searching for plugs show the white 1/4 turn plug ... and I have one of those. But this one is different.
