Replacing calipers

Hey all,

I'm looking at doing the brakes on my W211 E320. The front calipers have been painted red by some previous owner or by some previous shop. I would actually like to replace these calipers with just factory no-paint, perhaps even remanufactured calipers.

For years, I replaced calipers on my cars with reman parts and have never had an issue with pistons seizing or binding, or the caliper failing for any reason. Has anyone replaced calipers with reman pieces on their W211 before?

Which brake pad compound do you all recommend? Should I stay OE or are there improved pad compounds that would be compatible with SBC? I have traditionally put either ceramic mix or carbon kevlar pads on my cars and have never had a bad experience, but I really don't want to make the SBC system fail or not work as designed for any reason.

I have all the brake job posts bookmarked so I'll know exactly how to deal with SBC when it comes time!

Thanks!
