CD Player/Changer makes noise when car is off?

Hi, I have a 08 E350 and when I sit in the car with the engine off and even the key removed. The mechanism in the dash makes noise. Everything is off and I keep hearing the little CD motors spinning and doing something every so often.

Is this normal? If so what are they doing?
If not, should I worry or do something about it?

Its possessed! Take it to the exorcism department at the dealer.
Jk yea it will make all kinds of weird noises. If your w211 isn't making moans groans and squirms its not working right.

Phew...and I thought my '09 E350 was the only one that did that! Not sure what causes this, but apparently its "normal", I guess. Weird, man.

Hopefully it doesn't wear out the CD player/changer but who knows...

a while back i went to start my car and the battery was dead, at the time could not figure out why (battery was about 3 years old), jumped the battery and no problems. About a week later i try to play a CD from the changer and the changer will not activate (and i could not eject the CDs either). So i take it to the dealer (still under MB extended warranty) only to find out that it didnt cover the CD changer (or radio i believe), so i call the Dealership manager and remind him that i purchased 3 new vehicles from his dealership, and they agreed to replace no charge. To make a long story short, i'm sure that the CD changer continued to run even after the car was off. (a good way to check is to see if the current cd is still on the same track at the same part of the song, mine would always be on another track of another cd). So what i do now is always switch back to the radio before turning off the audio, i dont hear it continuing to run anymore...

ps about 2 months later i recieved a package from MB it was my 6 CDs
