Satalite radio?

Hi guys. i have a 2008 E350 4-matic. It has the button on the radio for sat radio, but it does not work. What parts do I need to get this baby going? I know there has to be a way to get it OEM. Thanks!

You will need to subscribe to a satellite vendor....Sirius or XM. Not sure about the cost.

Are you sure the satellite radio module is installed? My wife's E350 Comand has the button, but no module. What does the screen say when you press the button?

If vehicle is prewired, check behind right trunk panel, you will need receiver 2118706790. Roof antenna is telephone/GPS/satellite if not prewired you may have to go with aftermarket.

I recently bought a really nice 2005 W-211 CDI and it also does not have the module.

A friend checked with a MBZ dealer and got the correct part number, but was told
that dealers no longer stock or sell the module that my vehicle must have.

So I may have to buy one off EBay or start looking in the bone yards? What should I do?
I hear that a terk aftermarket antenna is the best. What does everyone think?

Thank you for your thoughts.

It is only my opinion, but the Sirius service is terrible in our cars. I had it activated in my 2007 E350 with the constante cut-outs and very tinny sound. Now I have the 3 month subscription in my 2009 which works great but still sounds tinny.

I do however subscribe to XM via a portable receiver and XM appears to sound better than Sirius. I was looking for a better solution by trying the in car radio but I guess I will keep my portable solution.

SiriusXM is supposed to be making technical changes* to the Sirius signal in several years (* termination). I've still not been able find a clear and trustworthy answer to the implications to the Sirius receivers in our cars. There's perhaps risk of them becoming obsolete sooner than you might think. But I don't really know... ...maybe it's an opportunity to get a free upgrade from junk yard salvage to brand new. ???
