Side view power mirrors wont adjust

Side view power mirrors wont adjust
I have a 2004 E55 with some (..hopefully..) minor ele issues, hopefully someone can give me some advice for trouble-shooting:
Both of my side view mirrors (Driver & Pass side) don't respond when i try to adjust them. Oddly enough, the mirrors both 'move/adjust' when the pre-set memory buttons are pressed; but i can't get the mirrors to move using the 'dial' on my door....very confusing
might anyone have any ideas, has anyone had this happen to them?. is there a special hidden fuse that i should be checking, is there some sort'a re-programming that needs to be done?.....any advice or suggestions is grealy appreciated
