What actually is a good mileage range on these?
It is a one owner and records check out good. This would be my weekend or special occasions car anyway.

See, it is used. I was trying to buy lower but this car seems to fit the bill. Just worried about mileage. I was reading up on here earlier about the E320's. So torn between that & an 01' S400,430

i think choosing between those two is going to be preference.

but even a low mileage car can be unreliable if it isn't maintained... if they have service records or you can have a mechanic look at it you should be good, 60k is not very many miles on a car

i daily drive a 1997 honda civic w/ 140k ish and it runs great and is super reliable! but then again comparing honda and mercedes in the reliability sense is kind of one sided imo... but ANY car that is well taken care of will go a long way

My 2004 E500 just clicked over 120K miles and still runs strong. I bought it with 29K miles, so most of those miles are mine. I get an oil analysis done at every oil change, and even my last one at 113K, came back with rave reviews. I literally just got finished changing the oil again, and have my sample all packaged up to send to Blackstone Labs.

64K is nothing for these cars. Even though I have the V8, I do believe the 320 is still based on the same M113 I have.

That is low mileage for a 2004

There is no way anyone could convincingly argue that 64000 (miles?) is anything other than low for that model year, now that it is 2012.

Look at the other 2004 e320s on the market. Most (not all) are 85K and over by now, some a lot over. The points made earlier about how the owner maintained it still matter, but other things being OK, mileage is not a concern with the one you are looking at.

Thank you all soooo much! I'm going to test it out and take it to a MB specialist in the area I have been researching.

@gazaman, I read up about the problems you had. I was doing extensive research. I think I read where in a thread that buying 06 and up was better.

@craftysince86, True. The service records is where I'm OCD. I must know every detail about a car. The only carfax so far is when it was bought, any accidents, etc. but I need to see the service records.

@Benzoramo, Gotcha. See most of your milage came from u so u know what u have vs me buying a used one. I'm OCD about buying a MB and I just want to make sure my purchase is worthwhile *keeps fingers crossed* I know it want be perfect but just want to see/research.

@ozua, True. I have noticed that while researching and finding the. I had found a clean, 1 owner one at a Landrover dealership but Bruce advised me 80k+ was too many miles and I did want one with less miles for a used at least between 30-50k range/00' up.

Oh, ETA, is there anything else I need to know that most dealers or MB specialist may not tell you about the E20's? I like to hear from ppl who own the car. Just wanted to know because I'm so OCD about details. (& I know this site has plenty of info)

Thanks!

Did my research putting everything together...
Decisions...decisions...

I don't know what to do?!? I know everything isn't always perfect but

#1 =Problem being braking system...

Cons: Multiple recalls for the Breaking system; ensotronic Brake System. It is very noticeable. For example, when you press the brake pedal as you approach a stoplight, the onboard computer either suddenly increases or decreases the brake pressure. leaking air conditioning system; a knock and looseness in the steering wheel, which required multiple visits to the dealer until it was fixed; squeaky brakes; Poor braking system. Needed new REAR Brakes at 20k miles! I'm told the tires are "cupping" and this is normal.
MINOR ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS, radio (radio static) and navigation systems,LOW PROFILE TIRES,
Breaks, Heated seats, air conditioner, stereo
Broken struts. Defective and unreliable stereo. Terrible and ongoing electrical shorts in the lighting system.Broken coil springs. (E500=Poor quality; airmatic suspension replaced at 15K miles , multiple on board computer problems--bizzare warnings; now problems with the electrical system--car intermittently shuts down--no lights, no power, no nothing), The fan too NOISY if AC turn on high, component failures, and a transmission refusing to shift correctly. Air conditioning (fan) much too loud at useful levels.
terrible cupholders, bad transmission seal, very noisy front suspension, Tire replacement- "Well, the car is very heavy and the tires wear out rapidly.", Steers to right, Spark plugs= A few months ago my car started losing power and cutting on and off while driving.
