Finally got the Alpine Nav in!
It came out just a bit thicker than we had hoped but we are still looking at a few small details and are going to play with the speaker location a bit, but the screen in visor works very well. They used a fabric that matches the factory cloth, but we may redo in a thinner leather.
I (think I have) attached one pic that shows the visor w/ screen. There really is not much else to photograph as the DVD unit is up under the trunk as you would expect.

After some delays in my schedule to get the car in, CustomExotica in MountainView, CA had a chance to have the car for a day and did the install.

HOLY ****!!!! that is nice!!! damn, thats something Shaq would do;p how much was it, installed and everything, looks good man
As far as the rest of the install price goes, I do not know yet because we are not done "tweeking" on this first of it's kind unit, but I think the basic install of the Alpine system I furnished is only a few hundred dollars, but Mike at Custom Exotica 1 (650) 988-1004 would be the man to ask for the most up-to-date and accurate info.

I only did "my" side and I am only using it for nav, but I suppose it would be cool to do them both and set up Nav / DVD / video games, etc. so the passenger does not have to rely on me for entertainment

This picture does not do the screen justice as the camera is compensating for the bright daylight, but it gives an idea.

I may now add those to my car as well. One in each Visor and the one i have mounted in the center of the dash.
Looks good man!
It is back in the shop being tweeked to see if it can be just a bit slimmer and to see how best integrate the speaker and IR receiver inside the visor (they were originally hidden elsewhere but that added wires leaving the visor).
I think this version is pretty clean, but the next version should be even cleaner

The car goes to the dealer all next week for misc issues, so the NaVisor will not be re-installed until the following week.

Yes, the shop that did this for me is Custom Exotica in Mountain View, (Mike at 1 (650) 988-1004).
Not only is this a pretty nice little item, but if you visit their shop and see all the custom work they did in their Lambo Murcielago (sp?), it will knock your socks off (this visor is nothing for them).
KShortill;
Absolutely, it is a great way to go. If your local shop is not into the total custom fabrication aspects, I suspect that CustomExotica would make one and send it to you for your shop to do the balance of the install. They seem to be very helpful.
I found these guys when I looked into the CrystalGuard system (If I understand it correctly, thier parent/affiliate company is the importer) and I had them to it to the E320. It is pretty amazing finish.

Sorry I really do not remeber how much the nav system cost. I bought it a few years ago and had it installed in a previous vehicle, and swapped it to the E320.

what is the part number for the screen as I would love to add something like that to my jag as the installation would be "concealed" and would not take up any dashboard space..
The visor screen is THE nav screen.
I went this way because, as you may have heard (somewhere) the earlier 03's cannot get the factory nav unit retrofitted.
There is no part number as the visor is totally custom made from fiberglass (to match the stock unit, except it is a bit thicker and obviously has a hole for a monitor, and contains a bunch of electronics) and covered in a cloth to match the interior. The original visor did get sacrificed as a few internal parts were needed for the new visor.
The screen is just a wide Alpine (7" diagonal I think it is).
