as long as you have the HK sound it will work... plug and play, you will need to buy some extra things to make the nav portion work

i heard all kinds of different stories, when i was doing this swap people telling me it wouldn't work and people telling me it would. i have an 03 e320 and i went from

nothing... it's a "european" comand which basically just means a non USDM w211 comand. be careful tho you wanna get one that DOES NOT come from south america or asia because the dvd format they use is different (PAL) which will you do you no good for US DVDs which are NTSC format.

european comands have dvd drives instead of the US model that came with satelite radio. the drives play DVDs in park, but you can unlock the unit to have video in motion, which means just what it says.

If you don't then you would have to do some work to make it work I BELIEVE the difference is that the HK sound runs on fiber optic SI without it, it wouldn't be plug n play. You would have to buy an audio link (I think there is one in the fs sections) and run fiber through out your car... Which from what I heard sounds like more work than it is.

I would probly just go aftermarket instead of trying to make an oem unit fit my car... I think scosche is the only company that makes a dash kit for a w211.

You would need the DVD drive in the trunk to make the navigation portion work.

And what do you mean your car was shipped?

The cartronics guys and machack are the leading experts and one of the few that gave me all correct info, I'm just giving you what I know from the research I did. Try asking them but i'll help all I can

Yeah my grill doesnt say anything so i believe it doesnt have the HK sound.....and the only reason i wanted the stock navi was because i thought i had the fiber optic wiring and thought it would be harder to do an aftermarket swap but i guess since i dont ide rather just go the aftermarket way as long as it wont mess anything up....i appreciate the help alot tho....and who did you say sold a dash kit for this car? where can i get it?

this is the only company i know that makes a dash kit

http://www.scosche.com/car-audio/veh...&model=E+CLASS

its a single din but i would just cut the center arm out and use it as a double din and i'm sure where ever you take it can fab up a bracket to hold it in place or you could do it yourself. single din in a mercedes just doesn't seem right to me lol
