New OEM bumper and paint chips... what went wrong???

I have a new OEM Mercedes bumper and after only two weeks I already have at least six white paint chips in it! I have never followed a gravel truck nor driven down a dirt or gravely road, so no excessive exposure to flying rocks or debris.

I'm assuming the paint shop just did a crappy job of painting, since it comes from MB primered. I want to be somewhat informed when I go back to the shop to complain, so for you paint experts what do you think they did wrong???

Car
It could be the fact that paint from body shops take a month to cure, meaning the paint on your bumper is still really soft.

I wish that were the case... but it was painted over three weeks before I picked the car up, so it had almost cured a month.

I also had the same issue. took it to a body shop after someone backed into my front bumper while driving and paint chips showed and even the paint on the hood on one spot has started to fade vs i took my car 6 months ago to another body shop for other work and no problems what so ever

Is it just bad prep? Not sanding the primer enough?

Paint is too thin and not enough adhesion promotion.

Adhesion promotion? Does that mean it wasn't sanded enough?

And possibly not enough Flex blended into the paint.

No, although that may also be a problem but it's difficult to know. Adhesive Promoter is a chemical spray that promotes the adhesion of new paint to old paint or plastic.
