USA vs. Canadian climate control swap: REST vs. Max Cool
I'm really missing the 'REST' climate function of my W210. However, I just noticed my W211 manual (see pic below) indicates our lucky Canadian neighbor's vehicles are equipped with the elusive 'REST' function (presumably to keep them warm during the long winters).
Has any ever try a climate control 'head unit' swap, or know where I could source a used one to experiment? I'm guessing/hoping this is not a coding issue since it seems the program for this function could be built right in to the controller.
Any Canadians friends around here to help/verify?

The A/C goes to a program combo of lowest temperature setting, highest blower speed and recirculating the same air. Eeven though the display might not indicate these items are in effect, you can hear it and feel it. Its the fastest way to cool down the car after its been sitting in the sun baking for hours. I also reccomend you open the 4 windows and the sunroof for 20 seconds as you press Max untill the air from the closed cabin evacuates so the car doesn't have to oversome the inside superheated air temperature also.
