service schedule
My 2006 E320 CDI is showing service D as coming due with the following US service items.
US Service 2,3, 9, 12,14
Additional work 1,2,3,5,8,9,10,12, 16,20
My car has only 27000 miles and it had an oil change and service B only a year ago at 25,000 (it has done only ~2000 miles! in the last year). Is it necessary to do all of the aforementioned items? It seems like the on-board computer jut pops up these items based upon time elapsed since the vehicle was put in service and just assumes that the car is doing a certain mileage during that period of time. Of course, in my case 27,000 miles is too low for a 6 year period. But does it mean I have to go through the exact regimen?

well if you follow Mercedes book it say for example 20 000 miles or years whichever comes first. I would personally just do oil change, brake oil, tranny oil and lube all other parts like moon roof etc that needs to be done

I had a similar issue. I had a service F code come up with only about 50k miles. I talked to a qualified indie about it and he said it was really due to the number of years, in this case, not miles. He inspected everything that was listed, sans fuel filter, and only did the items he felt necessary. If I took it to the dealer here, they would have just gone down the list and ticked it off, charged me 1500 bucks, and called it a day (they have to cover their backsides, if nothing else)...
