The door panel leather (the strip on the door) and the seats are true leather for 2007-2009, the W211 facelift. Obviously the more plastic-like feeling parts of the door and the seat back are MBTex, but the seats ARE REAL LEATHER. Especially in you 2009 E350, I don't know why you said it is confirmed they are all MBTex.

MBTex (vinyl) is much easier to clean and maintain. Use a good, non-acidic all purpose cleaner (I prefer Sprayway Citrus Crazy Clean) and wipe off. No crazy conditioning or cleaning shenanigans.
i have the build sheet:
"141A IMITATION LEATHER − BLACK/ANTHRACITE"
Also i saw a '12 e 350 what had "MBTex NO charge" on the window sticker. The msrp was $56k. the grain and look was exactly the same as mine.

I prefer MBTex for its longevity, and leather for its smell and feel.. My w210 had 306,000 miles when I sold it and the MBTex seats looked great. That being said, my 2000 Passat HAS real leather and at 348,000 miles, only the bolsters are showing some slight wear. So I guess either will last as long as its taken care of.

Conditioning is the key for that kind of longevity. Keeping leather conditioned keeps it pliable and helps fend off UV damage, thus keeping it from cracking.

09 e350s came with MB-tex and Leather was an optional upgrade, leather was std on e550s -- Brochure pg46, PDF pg24: http://cdn.dealerdna.com/brochures/m...09-E-Class.pdf
Sorry I can't find the 07 or 08 brochures.
I know our 2010 r350 wagon ($60k msrp) came std with MB-tex.
I believe the "base" GLs and M-classes (GL450 & ML350) also come std with MB-tex.

Confirmed for the 2007 E-Class as well. It is standard on the E550 and the E63 comes with the AMG Premium leather package, but for the E320 Bluetec and E350 MBTex is standard.
