I have a 06 E350 and I wanna upgrade to the 2007+ updated front bumper

Are the impact parts absolutely necessary? (The pieces that go behind the bumper)

Are the impact strips (corner pieces) the same or do they a different shape? The new one offered has parking sensors but my car doesn't have that so can I mount the ones from the 06 onto the 07?

Front grill, can the 06 hood close onto the 07 bumper with no problems? (I'd get the front grill anyway but just curious.

 

You need:

07+ front bumper, grille, fog lamps, bumper grilles, impact strips WITHOUT parking sensors (they are different than 03-06)

The 03-06 grille will work but there will be a considerable gap between it and the bumper.

Impact pieces should be ok with minor modification in some areas.

Thanks for the response, this answers everything I needed.

 

Incorrect. I speak from experience because I just did the conversion.
Below is the list of what you need... almost nothing carries over from the 03-06 to 07-09 bumpers, the grille will not work and the impact pieces will not either since the bumpers are completely different in shape (and they're glued in so I'm not sure how you plan to remove the foam without destroying it), as you can see in the picture below (list follows). Where possible I've included the Parts.com versus MB Dealer pricing:

My E-Class has never necessitated any parts conversions nor can I truly add any intellectual knowledge or insight to the thread... but I have to say your bumper and grill conversion turned out very very well and I am quite jealous of the E63 bumper! Excellent job.

I have a much faster, less headache, less work, and get any color you want.
Sell your 03-06 then buy a 07-09 ( you can choose what ever color you want) ta-taaaa......done!
