SDS (STAR) reports trunk closer not normalized, after normalization, throws same code
My 2007 E320 has the auto trunk closer that has begun exhibiting the following behavior:
Press the close button, it closes between 10-75% of the way, then stops and goes back up. Press it again, and it repeats it, but goes down a different percentage every time. It eventually closes , but there's no pattern. When it first started doing this, it only did it once every 50 times, now I can only get it to close once every 10 times without manual intervention.
Ran it through the SDS, and it says the trunk wasn't normalized. Normalized the trunk, it closed once just fine, and then began repeating the same behavior. Once again, STAR indicated it had reverted back to not being "normalized". Mechanically, everything appears fine, anyone have any suggestions as to what may be causing it to keep getting out of sync? Car's battery is fine and has not gone dead since I've owned it (2 years).
Thanks!

Out Of Control!!

If you followed the normalization process.ie first close trunk manually then by switch open to upper stop then hold drivers side open for at least four seconds while using switch to close-----you have a bad control module.

Any idea what else this control module controls or how expensive it might ?

Before I went any further, I would use your SDS to do all the testing of the specific control module.
All we have done is speculate, use the SDS menu to further test that module and the angle sensor bla bla----then you can come to a conclusion. Good Luck
