2009 E350 4matic w/ Sports Package
Lowering a 4matic

Can anyone point me in the right direction to purchase a set of springs. I want to lower my 2009 E350 4Matic but every set of springs i've researched states theyre not applicable to formatics. Any suggestions. I'm looking to drop the ride height by at least 2".

Also, i plan on slapping 20" rims on this E350. Should i even bother with lowering and will affect clearance?

Any input?

If you search the forum you will find my post where I installed the H&R sport springs on my w211 2008 E350 4matic. It's been almost a year and no ill effects prob 15,000 summer and winter miles. The service writter at the dealer even thought it looked and rode great.

Make sure you get the Mercedes camber correction bolts (also known as: "crash bolts").

My car was the non sport package so I bought the H&R sport springs for the non sport package (non 4matic).

To buck all the rules, I even run the staggered 18" AMG sport package wheels with no I'll effect. Just make sure you get tires that are the same circumference.

As for the ride with stock shocks, it feels like a BMW 5 series vs a MB. I really like it. Not nearly as harsh as my wife's 2012 C300 4matic with factory AMG sport package and 17" wheels.

I'd do it again in a heartbeat.
