Navi DVD based or sat based?

Navi DVD based or sat based?
When I bought my car the dealer told he that in2009 the navi was switched from DVD based where you have to buy a DVD to update, they said that 2009 it was satillite based meaning I never need to update. Does anyone know what it is. Thanks for the help.

DVD based. And it does need to be updated periodically. How often depends on how and where you need it. The dealer is probably thinking of the "traffic" feature on the Nav. it's a Sirius Satellite Radio feature.

Thanks...good to know, sometimes I question the knowledge of the sales people and also how much they just lie
