Wood shifter
Has anyone ever bought the "optional" wood shift knob for the Keyless Go? I know the "stock" one comes with wood trim but it's inverted. The pix on the MBUSA site show an S class I think.
Just wondering what it looks like.

Before my car got here, the only Keyless Go I had seen was on a 2003 E320, and I seemed to remember it as all leather. So I ordered the wood/leather knob through parts, and asked that it go to my salesperson upon arrival so that she could see it installed on my E500 when it arrived.
When the car got in, the knobs were identical. They did give me a full refund on the one I had ordered. Of course, this was back in October, but at that time it appeared that MB only had one wood/leather shift knob for Keyless Go on the E500. It probably wouldn't hurt to check again, though.

Thanks for the word. I knew you had "ordered the part" but didn't know if you ever saw the other knob. If they are "about the same" I won't even bother.

The E55 shift knob in black leather will work......I asked the dealer to order it from Germany and he is awaiting my replacement E500 Nav this week. He tried it already on one Sport package on the lot and said it looks much better than the silver knob.
