Trunk Lid Chrome Strip Removal Help.

I've searched the forums for this subject and can't find anything on it:
I'm trying to remove the chrome strip on the trunk lid of my '04 W211. Yesterday, I removed the fuzzy inner trunk lid liner and poked around in there with my fingers. I couldn't feel for any clips, bolts, or fasteners. I also removed the license plate lights and found nothing.
Does anybody have experience removing this part? Apparently Mercedes did such a good job designing it that I can't seem to find a way to remove it.
My chrome strip has a nasty scratch in it and I'm looking to have it re-chromed by a friend for free. Thanks.

There are 4 fasteners; two inside nuts, two outside screws (pre-facelift). Outside screws are easy. Inside nuts are 10mm I think, remove these and the piece will come right off. To get to the inside nuts, you must remove the lining as you said you've done. Keep looking, you'll find them.

Thank you. I'll look for them again this Saturday and will post the good news if I am successful!
