Akebono Ceramic Pads

This weekend I had an indy remove and replace the mega-dusty OEM pads with Akebono Euro ceramic pads on my 08 E350 Sport. Braking is fine, quiet, and dust free.
Pads were around $150 and labor was $120. Dealer quote was $750.

Curiously, did you have to reset any of the FSS/sensor stuff or simply replace pads and move on to the next thing I life?

I've had them for over a year now, barely every have to clean my wheels (not of brake dust anyways) and everything else seems the same. I think they're great.

Neither I nor the indy service tech had to do anything technical to the car, such as resetting the FSS/sensor, etc. During my 80 mile drive back home I did perform the gentle, medium, hard break-in steps to condition the new pads, which was simple and repetitive. The brake pad job took 90 minutes, which gave me plenty of time to thoroughly clean the wheels (inside + outside) while they were off the car.

Last year I put these same pads on my SL to get rid of the ugly brake dust, and they're great.

New OEM pads do not give off much brake dust anymore. Had them on for about a year and barely had to clean them. However not sure if you get them from the dealership if you will get the updated version.
