What do I do now??
Car: Used 2009 E350 with 41K miles with Factory Warrany until 12/2012
Problem: Intermittent transmission knock when coming to a stop
Ok so I took my car many times to have the techs take a look at my car for the same recurring problem. So my car would knock and downshift really hard when coming to a slow / rolling stop (in both Sport & Comfort). I took the car in to the dealer 3 times and for some odd reason that's beyond me, the tech's were never able to "replicate" the problem. Finally, when I took it in for the 4th time, I had an SA sit in the car with me while I replicated the problem over and over in less than a 3 mile round trip. Only then, were the tech's finally able to replicate the issue. It was escalated to the tech's, master tech's, and MBUSA engineers came down to take a look at the car as well.
Apparently, my car was up to spec and nothing was out of the ordinary so they recommended that I perform the 40k transmission service and have the valve body replaced which I did (out of pocket) since I had 41k miles at the time. I get a call 2 weeks later saying can't fix the issue since they can't find the root of the problem. Their advice? Keep driving the car until it happens more frequently, but there's nothing they can do. Sounds like complete bull**** to me.

\Any advice?

Usually the valve body is the problem on these 7G automatics (hard downshift from 2 > 1 almost like a kick/jolt). My uncle had an 07 S550 which had the valve body replaced at less than 20K miles. I remember getting a brand new GLK350 loaner and thing had the same problem right off the bat.
