transmission noise E220 CDI 2007
Hi im new here so please be gentle!
I have an 07 E220 CDI Automatic with a strange noise on pulling away or if accelerating hard in another gear.
The best way to describe this is a 'grrrrrr' sound lasting for around a half second, it doesn't do it all of the time, however i have noticed it is now becoming more frequent.
Not sure whether this is prop shaft or gearbox related,
Any ideas?

covered 81,000 miles, not sure if and when transmission fluid changed as only had the car 1 year, and no prior service history with it.
I had the car serviced last August when I bought it, and am about to have another service (B) in a couple of weeks.
None franchise dealer has quoted me £175 for a transmission fluid change, which includes filter and 'plugs' (not sure what plugs are!) do you think this is the problem?

Can't say that the fluid is the problem, but it is good business to get the fluid changed regularly-about every 40,000 miles. That maintenance will help longevity of the car and you may find it helps or eliminates your grrr.
