help new owner e280 cdi
hi im new to this site but iv been doing a lot of reading and this seems to b the best place for advice ,
i bought a e 280 cdi sport last week my first mercedes and im loving it i use it as a taxi here in ireland ,but heres my problem ,
i just got fuel in the garage and pulled out on to the street and accelerated hard the turbo came in and it took of and then it hit like a limiter and splutterd a few times till i took my foot of the peddel ,,then drove grand ,so i tried it again it it was fine seems to just do it when i start car first ,,i hope its not turbo i did hear everytime it made the splutter it made a little like air noise from under the hood,,but iv also been thinking that its not changing gear fast enough and its reving out in the gear its in without changing ,ill be in my car soon so ill try get it to do it again and ill look at the rev counter and see if its hitting the limiter ,if any of u know or had this problem it would be great to hear from u thanks

I've got the same problem. Thought it may be the mass airflow sensor (MAF) which we replaced (merc only sell it as one part now so cost £250, very easy to fit took guy 5 mins to do it). Unfortunately this did not solve the problem so sending part back and booking it into a specialist. Could still be a sensor problem or turbo seal.
Will let you know what happens if can get car booked in this week.

Also see this thread in the other forum. Sounds like same problem. Ive also only owned mine (a e320 v6 diesel same engine as e280 I believe) a few weeks.

It my brothers garage who are goin to pass on to specialist di should get told exact problem. Again will let you know how I get on and cost.
