Twice over the past month my radio has simply cut off while I have been driving. In both cases the radio has cut off and not restarted on its own. My son pointed out to me that both times this has occurred I was driving in storms when lightening was occurring, and in fact a bolt of lightening had just occurred when the radio went off!! Weird!! Has anyone else experienced this? This has only happened to me twice; both times during storms with lightening. Also, both of these events occurred after I had my audio gateway replaced, if that means anything.

It happened to me yesterday but the radio came back on by itself. it was the first time - and the funny thing is my service advisor called me when it happened and i told him. he said the fix is to install a blower fan on the audio gateway to cool it down - temps yesterday were above 42C!

Mine has gone off a couple times also. Both times the temperature was over 100 degrees F. Once, it came back after being off for about 90 minutes and the temperature was still above 100. It must have cooled off and then recycled on its own.
The second time, I stopped for gas and then restarted and it came back on and stayed on.
I haven't bothered to have the audio gateway replaced since I will be getting a new car with the Nav next month.
This is the first I've heard about a fix calling for an audio gateway with a fan. Could you get a Service Bulletiin number for us to refer our dealers to should we run into future problems?
