Is there a coolbox/fridge in my '08 W211 E280??
Hey there, guys.A newbie here.Recently I've bought my first MB,an '08 W211 E280 Avantgarde Petrol with sunroof and powerboot from the UK.
I haven't been driving the car much since I got it around last week.I've only driven it the longest for around less than 30 minutes. But I noticed that the middle console box seems to be quite cold inside after some time.I'm wondering if it's a coolbox/fridge for the car.
I'm not quite sure if the W211 E280 has a coolbox option or not in the UK.If so, I'd like to know if there is a switch or something to turn the coolbox on/off.Or if it's possible to control the temperature of the coolbox.
With this question,I attached a picture of the console box for members here to see.
Thank you in advance.

I think you might be describing the central storage area, and at the "front" of the interior should be a small plastic piece that can be moved up and down to control airflow into the storage area. This airflow might be connected to the a/c system, which in effect gives you a microscopic, poor man's fridge.

You have a different lid on your console than we have here in the USA. (Yours looks to be rear hinged from the pic) In 2003/4 when we had the butterfly lid style here the console was ducted to the a/c system and did indeed have a hard to move plastic inlet teflector lid at the front wall of the consile which could be slid up & down to minimize or maximize the amount of cooled air entering the console.
Nice to see your car is pre wired for phone.
