previous occasional squeak on pano is turning into horrid mess of rattles & crunches
So when I bought my used 07 E320 in May of 2010, I would occasionally get a pop or squeak when I went over a bump that put a lot of torsional stress on the body ( a badly designed, temporary offramp created by beltway construction).
Over the course of 2.5 years, it has turned into a constant crunching and squeaking mess that happens over the slightest bumps or changes in direction. Is there something I can easily access and tighten up to fix this? It's absolutely driving me nuts.
Additionally, my sunblinds (when retracted) have gone from bad to worse and constantly rattle as well. The noise is literally so bad, I'm thinking about incurring debt to sell the car when nothing else appears to be wrong.

Get the pano roof services at a Mercedes dealer with a pano roof expert who knows what they are doing. Mine rattled also but they fixed it completely. The pano roof needs service every now and then to lubricate the moving parts.
The rattles can be fixed.

Any idea how much that cost? The roof has been lubricated on a regular basis, but no amount of lubrication will fix components becoming loose, which is the likely cause of rattles.

Not sure because my dealer did this more or less as a goodwill repair for me. But I can tell you that there were annoying popping and creaking sounds and when I brought it to their attention, they said they will have their "pano roof expert" fix this. I can't stand noises so I actually gave the shop foreman a bottle of wine and I took him on a drive so he can hear the sounds I was complaining about. They made all the sounds go away. I've heard of other people complain so I think it makes a difference to have someone who is good with the internals of the pano roof try and fix this for you as opposed to someone just putting some lube and giving the car back to you.. Good luck!
