radio power

I was just wondering what might cause my radio to just turn on by itself without the key even in the ignition? After that happening a couple of time, now I have been turning power off of radio before turning vehicle every time just in case it turns on so my battery doesn't get affected. I also was just wondering if most people actually turn off their radio and air conditioning and etc. before shutting down car?? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Definitely not. There would be something wrong with the car if any of this would be needed.

Difficult to say why your radio turns on if initially off an ignition is kept off and the on-button is not used.
