The sport package blue tint is very light. I went ahead with a 35% tint all the way around and it turned out great - completely covered the blue tint. If you try and do blue tint I think it will look purple if it's too dark. Good luck!

Hmm. I was told by the dealer when I purchased in Feb '03 that they would not tint the windows because of how tight the seals were. I would like to go ahead and tint (as dark as possible) all windows. Have you had any problems? Also, for anyone who has a power rear sunshade with secondary tint; any problems?

There's no problem tinting the windows if you go to a good shop. I have a CLK with the rear sunshade and have absolutely no problems with it.

There are replacement MB window seals that have a felt edge where the window slides down. My tint shop put these in and removed the rubber-only seals that are now on the E class. The seals with the felt edge help prevent any chance of the tint being scratched down the road. Also, I use Plexus plastic polish on the inside tinted windows. Makes the glass feel like it was just waxed. I figured it's gotta help and was recommended by the tint shop. Good luck!!

Are these seals, in fact, MB replacement seals or after market seals? Either way, do the replacement seals, in any way, diminish the qualities of the original seals? Lastly, if you don't me asking, what did you pay?

These are MB parts, not 3rd party. I paid $225 for the tint and $40 extra for the two seals. $265 total. These are the seals or weatherstripping right where the window goes down into the top of the door. Your MB dealer's parts guys should be able to look up the part #. I will post it if I can find out the number.

I only did the front two doors. 98% of the time I'm the only one in the car so I figured the rear windows will go down about once a year.
