My journal history of 2 months of w211 ownership.
Thanks to all the members!
I recently purchased a W211 - 211.083 E500 2004 4matic 94k on ticker, and the forum has helped me tremendously.
For future reference, people looking into buying these vehicles-used I just wanted to document my purchase history and maintenance history
as noted below… Once more this is for reference only.
• Car purchased back lot of Acura dealer, smelling like gas no reconditioning, multiple code issues in cluster.
Airmatic bring to workshop, front low beam right side, and many more having to do with marker lighting and rear license plate lighting.
• Purchased car $7,500 USD with all issues.
• So far I have this much in the car:
1. Car $7,500 purchased Sept 2012
2. Fuel sender and seals $315
3. Rear tail lamp assemble cracked OEM replacement $200
4. Mirror right side signal housing cracked $41
5. Floor mats $88 from Salisbury MD Dealer.. Cool peeps
6. Airmatic Relay $11.00
7. C3 star tool plus ibm t30 laptop $500 (china tool, t30 from eBay)
8. Memory upgrade for t30 70$ 2gb yes it will take with new bios flash
9. Various plastic interior pieces (from wear and tear) $700 (vents, console, soft touch paint items etc.)
10. New multispoke 18’’ wheels and tires (recond. Wheels) $1,500
11. One shop reading via star before my c3 purchase 140$
12. Wiring harness 2 lead from chaff on wheel liner for Airmatic pump 17$
13. New ballast (crazy design ballast, watch pin alignment)and hid D2S ebay - $76
14. New front brake pads plus new brake sensor (one sensor) $70
15. New ashtray assemble (mine was trashed cracked from panel) $55 ebay
16. New hand free steering wheel controls (both sides) $95 ebay
17. Oil change $65 bucks
18. 4 wheel alignment after Airmatic fixes and new wheels $89.00 Indie buddy
19. Ironx whole car recondition paint and remove several dents via PDR $200
20. New front side marker bulbs had 194 with wrong wattage switched to 2825 $5 with proper 5w rating so ECU intel would not cluster error.
(can be removed with vinyl spreader soft plastic from trunk side end.) no need to remove fender liner
21. Maxima Chain wax $8 (cosmoline) for aluminum parts like rear over pressure tanks for air springs to relieve crossion
and rust on 3 airmatic hose under rear subframe.
22. Various torx bits and drivers $40
23. SEM leather spray touch up leather $17
24. Griots items (fun part of this project!) $200+
25. Harbor Freight Random Orbital electric 6’’ (no need for Porter Cable at these prices) $69 (SKU 69924) same motion,
pretty impressed base on having 2 porter’s burn up.
26. .05$ for ziptie to fix driverside headrest motor issue.
Total so far ($11.371.05)
