EPS Malfunction!! What is wrong with this car

I get this error message every time a brake quickly or suddenly.. If I ease on the brake it doesnt happen. But if I brake rather quickly this message comes up visit the shop.. I havent done any brake work lately the message just begin to pop. I have brand new tires..

Also when this error light is on .. I really cant cant brake... its almost like the brakes are gone.. I can pump them and they behave better but still not normal.

NOt sure what is causing this issue.
I can turn my car off and back on the message goes away.

What year is your car? You may have a ESP Moduel that just failed or has a short of some kind. Did you read the codes?

The bad news is that the EPS is not apart of the emissions system and therefore your typical OBD reader will not be able to communicate with the module and retrieve the fault.-----------he needs dealer like software to do the job!!
