My gear will not upshift pass 2nd gear! I have taken it to my personal mechanic a few times and he says there is no fault indicator code? So, he just resets my 2006 E350 and gives it back to me! He does not know why my gear will not upshift pass 2nd gear... He resets it and its good for a couple of months...sometimes a couple of weeks!
Is there a way for me to reset it myself so I can avoid paying this $99 X 4 visits ytd!
Anyone knows of a permanent and inexpensive solution! HELP!
My 98 S420 never gave me any problems with 264K miles and still going!

Firs thought is why do you keep going back to this mechanic?
Second: Have you had the transmission serviced by MB? Transmission fluid/filter should be changed every 39,000 miles or so and transfer case fluid.
I would start there.
Actually, I would take it in to MB and have them see if the transmission conductor plate is having any issues. If not, then I would do the fluid/filter changes.
$99 x 4 would've paid for your fluid change already.

I have a bridge in Atlanta for sale-----wanna buy it!!
All kidding aside your mechanic really does not know about MB's----there are no codes because the scanner he is using can't read the transmission module. Take the car to someone who has equivalent factory diagnostic software called DAS Xentry----accept nothing less
