Instrument Cluster Weird Issue [Pic+Video]
Hey Guys,
My E350 is having issues with the central LCD in the instrument cluster, here's a picture of what's happening along with a video !
Any thoughts on what it may be ? It's not always happening but it is irritating to say the least !
Here's The video: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/29921912/201...2013.15.49.mp4
Thanks !

Some suggestions...
I know you probably have a US car, but here's a UK site that fixes them: http://www.clusterrepairsuk.co.uk/re...lusterSpeedo/:
I think there's a US site that does something similar, but I can't find it this morning. These repair companies replace bad display elements (LCD/pixel issues), they don't fix fundamental issues if the intelligence of the device is toasted, so far as I understand.
Here's how to pull the cluster out: http://www.ehow.com/how_7732114_repa...t-cluster.html
There is a cluster on eBay this morning for USD$230 . Search for Mercedes W211 instrument cluster. (no, I am not the seller)
My suggestion is that you buy one on-line, having confirmed the exact MB part number you need, and/or search on-line for wreckers, and get a part shipped to you. Then replace it yourself or at your favorite Indie and get advice on reprogramming, which I expect will be necessary. That reprogramming may necessitate a trip to a dealer.

Thanks for the tip! But unfortunately i live in Lebanon which is in the Middle East, so i can't use any of these. I'll wait until it completely fails, then i'll get a new cluster and get it fitted at an indie.
