Re: Model Year 04 E-Class “Appearance” & “AMG Sport” Packages

We would like to take this opportunity to reiterate some optional package changes effective with Model Year 04 ordering.

· The Model Year 03 “Sport” Package E3 gets a name change and new code (322), and will now be called the “Appearance” Package as of Model Year 04. There is no change to the content, (other than deletion of the fender and gearshift lever badges*). This package is already available for ordering on both the sedan and wagon. The package will continue to be comprised as follows:
o (Requires optional Airmatic suspension and leather upholstery on E320). 17” 5-spoke alloy wheels with 245/45WR-17 high-performance tires. Sculpted lower bodywork. Blue-tinted glass. Black grille with five chrome ribs and chrome surround. Active curve-sensing (new) Bi-Xenon High intensity discharge projector low-beam and high-beam headlamps. Heated headlamp washers. All-LED brake lamps. Black (new) gauge faces, with matte chrome instrument cluster surround. Matte chrome gearshift surround. Black birdseye maple wood interior trim with polished chrome outlining.
o $3,880 on the E320. Projected order rate: 8%.
o $1,410 on the E500. Projected order rate 25%.

· The “AMG Sport” Package Code 321 is new for Model Year 04, and will be available on both the sedan and wagon. Production availability will be announced separately. At the time of this writing, the AMG Sport package will not be available on 4Matics. The package will consist of:
o AMG front & rear bumpers, 18” 5-spoke AMG wheels (not E55 AMG wheels; see photo below) in a staggered setup (8x18”245/40ZR18 front, 9x18” 265/35ZR18 rear). Sculpted lower bodywork (like “Appearance” pkg.) Two visible chrome exhaust pipes. “Sport” fender badges & gearshift badge.
o $4,800

All of the packages are reconfigured for '04 (just to keep things interesting ?). Iwill try to get a complete list together and post a thread.
thanks for the post, this clears up what they will offer. i want to see the new gauges, sounds pretty cool

I see prices on these options....has anyone seen pricing on the base car and the other options? Looks like a 2 - 2.5% increase in price, I wonder if this is going to hold for the base vehicle also.

All of the above
They are priceless!

No prices have been released for the '04 E class.
Typically MB does not release the prices untill the cars are "officially" released.

Figure on seeingprices in September. I'll post 'em when I get 'em.

Well technically, they have released the pricing now for the appearance package ($3880 and $1410), and AMG package ($4800). Based on the pricing for the sport package in '03, it looks like a 2 - 2.5% increase. That is why I was asking if the other pricing is released, because it seems odd that they would include the pricing in this bulletin for these options, when they could have easily omitted it...

I wonder if cars ordered with the AMG package will be factory lowered to E55 specs....

Good question

The AMG wheels are the 5 spoke AMGs similar to the SL500 and CLK500.
