Hello everyone,
I finally got a das developer (Thanks Shardul!) and one of the tweaks I'm very interested in doing is enabling Manual mode for the transmission but I'm not looking to spend 700+ on a new steering. Has anyone done this or attempted it? I understand some coding is done when a steering wheel with paddle shifters is retrofited but I can't seem to find the instructions....
Any input is appreciated!

Version is 2011.01 if I remember correctly.
I'm not at any particular frame, been looking for the option in various modules but the dev options being in German makes its quite difficult.

I just wanted to make sure that you knew where you were and you are correct the developer mode is all in German, because it is for factory use.
Just a small piece of advice before you come back here with an irreversible----"O gosh what do I do now story"
I would concentrate on the normal diagnostic paths that can be used to diagnose your car, and learn them well before venturing into a very technical area with little or no practical or language experience.
Many of the options available in developer mode if actuated improperly can damage your car permanently and expensive to replace.
You have an excellent tool just use it wisely!!Good Luck

Did some more research and it seems SCN coding was performed for the retrofits. Needless to say I'm not up for SCN.
Could ask my dealer but they probably won't do it without the steering wheel...
I don't even know if the absence of the paddle buttons will trigger some faults or cause erratic behavior.
So probably a dead end
