Tires on NAV Replacements
Saw it at the dealer today though and noticed it had
Goodyear Eagles on it.
Did anyone else get these?
In general, is MBZ starting to use Goodyears instead of Conti's or Michelins?
Let you know how they feel tomorrow!
There is an Eagle RS-Asymmetrical that wears well and was not noisey. I had those on an '01 C320.
Anyways.. sure enough in about 200 ZILLION E"s that they had delivered in recent months with Michelin's.. mine's was the first in as many months with Conti's.... WHAT THE HEY????
Yes, I have the CH95's again. Although they seem more quiet and isolated that the previous issue. My Sport 2 is actually USABLE now (I can have it on with my wife and son in the car without illiciting any complaints). Before it was Comfort.. or nothing.

at the factory I have been able to have the tires exchanged for under $100.
My question is which brand should be my first choice? In the past I have
always had them changed to Michelin but sometimes I feel they are overated.
Anyone have any real evidence to support the legality of swapping tires at the dealership? I've heard this excuse a few times before from other members, and I'm wondering if any truth is in that statement.

It has Goodyear Eagle LS on them.
per Goodyear's website they are the the quietest riding in their class.
For what it's worth my brother had them as standard on his Lexus GS430
Most of my trip was plagued with heavy rain but the car handled well. The NAV was used many times during the trip, it is very accurate but not as easy to use as the voice activated - touch screen NAV in my wife's Acura.
i just had a question for the people who have picked up thier rplacements....i noticed that the knob on the right has the up, down, and side to side arrows on the buttons, but between those buttons, there are 4 other buttons, with lines on them, does anyone know what they are used for? all E-classes have them, but on the regular E, there are no lines on them, and they arent buttons, thanks in advance
They let you scroll the map diagonally !!
Which is a very nice feature when you are trying to look at your overall route plan.
BTW only glitch with NAV so far, is that it took about 15 minutes of driving until it
figured out where I was. Until then it shows you in the general vicinty but "off road". Dealer said that this is a "one time" synch-up with the GPS system
I picked up my NAV replacement car last Saturday, it has Michelin Pilot MXM4 tires. I just came back from a 900 mile trip with the car today. It does feel better than my first car but some of that may be due to the new softer settings of the Air Suspension. You can now use Sport 2 on bumpy roads.
