Anyone experience a clicking noise from under steering wheel?
My wife and I took a trip to Santa Barbara this weekend, and along with passing the 1000 mile break-in point (YAY!), my car developed this irritating clicking sound from under the steering wheel.
The sound only appears over rough road, and sounds like the pastic on lower steering wheel cover is flexing. So it's an annoying click, click, click sound... which I can reproduce by pressing on any part of the plastic surround. This sound is not produced by the turning of the wheel -- the wheel can be straight, turned, or whatever... and the plastic underneath makes the sound.
Anyone else experience this, and, if so, do Benz dealers know of this (have a quick fix?).
Thanks in advance. The car is otherwise built like a safe... which makes this even more of an annoyance!
