More pics in my album.
I'll be lowering the car an inch or so with a set of Bilstein B16 Coilovers with Ride Control; I'm no expert with lowering yet
OEM 16's (which I still have) are obviously very comfortable on original shocks/springs etc. Staggered 19's took a while getting used to, now I love them, especially with my setup, though different rim/tire combinations may provide a different experience. With 19's, I no doubt feel more connected to the road. I will not swap 19's with anything smaller, though (hypothetically) expect the ride and handling to improve with new coilovers, especially with in motion/adjustable ride (damping) control; that's the plan anyway.

Let me tell you; I have 20s, man the handling is better but the ride is rough. Obviously since the rubber is also stiffer and you loose sidewall. The sidewall sometimes can act as an damping mechanism. Depending on what the road conditions are and how you like your ride to feel that determines what set to get. 18's will allow for a taller sidewall than the 19s, so it would be a slightly softer ride. Hence why I want to go from 20's to AMG 18s.

I put 19" RS63 wheels on my 2003 E500, 19x8 fronts (245/30/19 Falken FK452 tires) and 19x10 rears (275/30/19 tires) I lowered the suspension 1.75 inches in the front and 1.25 in the rear with lowering links (has Airmatic). The ride quality is still really good, just a touch firmer than with the stock wheels. I am very pleased with the ride, handling, and looks.
