I'm trying to get my car to pass Maryland Inspection and am told it needs new struts.

It's at the Stealership right now and I"m told the front struts are going to run $1300, a bulb socket and a new lens - bringing the total repair to over $2200. I'm having a difficult time swallowing this.

Is there an Indie around Ellicott City that anyone has had good luck with? I'm living in an apartment right now, so I cannot do the struts myself, but feel that $1300 for sport front - non airmatic struts is a little...well excessive, and a socket repair for $300+ is just dumb.

LEt me know and thanks.
