Erroneous Engine Oil Too Full Message

Twice now within the last 4 - 5 weeks while driving I've gotten an FSS Alert Message that my oil level is too high. But when I've checked the oil level each time later using the car's measuring system, it indicates oil level ok. When I go into my MB Dealer for the next oil change in another 1k miles, I'll ask them to check it out. But does anyone know what's causing me to get this oil level too high warning message while driving, but only twice now in several weeks?

Sounds like you have a faulty oil level check switch(in the lower pan).

The other companion issue is that if faulty and the fault produces a non OBD fault(no check engine) and the fault is not cleared before new one installed you may still get those messages.

I would bite the bullet and have it changed out with my next oil change.

If the oil level is low after checking, I would not wait but I would add the appropriate amount to make sure the crank case is full, however after checking the oil level and found not to be low---then what would you do??
