Torque Converter Drain Plug on my 2005 E500 strait up RWD
Hello all,
I can't find the torque converter drain plug on my car. I have a 2005 E500 sedan withOUT 4Matic. Just rear wheel drive. My transmission number is 722.901 according two separate dealers that checked on my transmission using my VIN.
I was under the car today because I plan on doing the transmission service since I have 42K miles on my car now and it is due for it. I was under the car to go through each step without actually doing it (I'm waiting for parts, etc. to arrive) and kind of rehearsing since this will be the first time I'll do this service. When I come to the part of taking out the drain plug for the torque converter, I can't seem to find it. The document on the 722.9 Transmission service thread about t.c. drain plug removal shows an image but it doesn't look like mine.
Could someone please help me out. I've attached photos of the underside of my car.
Any help would be appreciated.

Out Of Control!!
If in fact you have the 722.9------then look at the rear center of the bellhousing and you should see a cover----pry the cover off and you will gain access to the torque converter drain plug. Make sure you replace the drain plug seal and make sure you know EXACTLY how much drained out!!
