Brake Noise

Now onto my 3rd problem requiring a trip to the dealer (at 3k miles and 2.5 months) Not quite what I expected from a $50,000 car with a reputation like MB's (the old reputation, not the new one). My wife talked me out of a BMW for this car, now at least I can say "I told you so" !!!

Now the rear passenger side brake makes a whooshing sound everytime I press the pedal. It's like something is sticking and the sound frequency changes with speed. I don't quite know how to describe the sound other than whoosh-whoosh becasuse that's how it sounds.

Anyone have noises from their brakes ?

I'm taking it to the dealer, but I've found that it's better to diagnose the problem yourself and tell them what to do or the car comes back with "could not replicate" or they do a quick fix that needs a trip back a la audio gateway that got reset by pulling a fuse for a second and then returned to me as fixed.

I think i have a similar problem with my car... Ive only had the car for 8 months now but my car has been to the dealer 3 times already..

A week after receiving delivery of my car, it developed a jerking-type- of-movement and is noticeable on low revs(like when manouvering in heavy traffic).. so i went to the dealer and they immediately diagnosed it as that of transmission failure. But when I got the car back they told me they couldn't replicate the problem and gave me the all clear sign.. A few days later the symptoms persists but I couldn't be bothered to send the car in again as it seems the dealer lack the expertise required of a Benz dealer (they did offer to test the car over a prolonged period but suprisingly didnt offer me a replacement car in the mean time..so I turn them down!)

Anyway since then however my car had a new wiper installed (the last one was making this annoying scratching noises), had a parktronic sensor replaced and had the boot lid adjusted as it couldn't be shut properly..

It was only recently that I have notice a squeking sound coming from the brake pedal..it did this a couple of times over a period of days, but I paid no heed to it as I thought this was normal ( I usually have the radio on so maybe all the noises were drown out by the music). Then I decided to switch the air-conditioning and radio off whilst driving one day..and amazingly there was no squeaking noise! I immediately knew something was wrong but the noise seems to come and go..so I decided not to send the car to the dealer just yet as the likely reply i'll ever get from them is 'can't replicate" That's when I started surfing the net and finally read this article..

Anyway I'm hoping that this problem will be sorted out quickly otherwise I might consider trading my car for a...Beemer!!!! SOrt it out MB, I am losing my patience thick and fast
