I am interested to know how it is possible to know which type of "Comand" is installed NTG1; 2 and which version of the Maps

The Maps are not installed in the COMAND Head Unit. The DVD is in a DVD Player in the trunk. If you eject the DVD you will know which map set you have by the version number and part number printed on the disc.
