Satellite issues

Purchased 2009 e350 4matic a year ago, and decided to purchased a subscription to SiriusXM satellite radio
I had a reception problem right from the beginning with one channel only, channel 5 if I drive e.g. 20 miles I would lose reception about 10 times varying from 1 to 30 seconds, the message on the command sytem indicates no service the command system would also freeze, until reception from satellite was restored. I contacted Sirius on a number of occasions. they tried everything, resend signals, a couple of resets etc I called a Mercedes dealer. they told me it is a problem with the signal. I was caught in the Middle so I decided to live with it I would listen to it only for a short period of time before I became frustated it was my second favourite music station. on May 6th of 2013 Sirius did a complete update with adding and removing channels
Guess what the problem I was having on channel 5 switched to my favourite channel 56, channel 5 works perfectly now
I contacted Sirius again advising them what had occurred with no results, phoned Mercedes again now they tell me It could be the antenna
is faulty and it would cost $398.00 plus installation and they could not
guarantee that this would resolve the problem it could also be the Satellite Module when I initially called them about the problem the car was still under warranty
Would someone Please help me, if you have a solution and what I should do to resolve this dilemma
I would really appreciate it

My Sirius experience 2009 E350:

Two problems for me. MSNBC would cut out for 30 seconds every now and then. Dealer replaced satellite module which fixed MSNBC.

Second problem was all channels would cut out after a rain or car wash. Antenna was loose (see detailed post).

It has been almost two years and no issues since then.
