you will need to get the whole HID conversion kit. Its really easy to do it. 15min DIY.

to remove the original bulb, just twist and pull. and you have to cut a small hole on the rubber cover to make way for the wire of the ballast.

Why would he have to get an HID Conversion kit if he already has HID?

Hey OP, you should be able to find a replacement D2S Bulb and replace it. Not sure if anybody makes an 8000k bulb since that will be so dark it'll be next to useless. However, a 6000k bulb would really nice. Check out the OSRAM Xenarc, it puts out a nice white color with a hint of blue.

FYI, the stock is 4300k, so the 6000k should be much whiter.

Heres a discussion about it, http://www.hidplanet.com/forums/show...l-Blue-Intense

if you have a low cost HID set up atm, you may have the cheap ballasts and bulbs that comes with it. if and when you want to upgrade like you mentioned, you might wanna think about upgrading the whole she-bang with a more expensive set.
