All about personal preference in design. Vossen and Vorsteiner make brilliant wheels but very expensive. I like EuroSport and Verde. What do you want as far as a look? What's the color of your car? Do you plan to lower? Need more details too much of an open ended question.

You need to give me more information man, you looking for a light color wheel too or a contrast with dark wheels? Are you willing to spend $3000-4000 for a set or do you want to keep it under $1000? I assume you are keeping the 18x8.5 size configuration with 4-Matic all around?

find some stock E55 split 5's or some E63 5's if you want a upgrade without lowering

Rim option help

Hi all!! New to the site and brand. I have an 07 E350 with sport setup, staggerred rims. Not too keen about the setup, but looking at some option with no plans on lowering. The color is Arctic white with tinted windows.
8.5 x 18 all around is what I would like, if possible: What's the best tire size so I can rotate? Tires are getting too expensive, 2nd set by the end of this year. What do you all think about silver, gunmetal, or black..
I would like abit of a lip on the rims, prefer silver and or gunmetal. Everyone's thought are appreciated. Thanks

Ohh I'd like a star shape design, but looking for other thoughts

Welcome to MBWorld!

If you want to be able to rotate you can run non-staggered at 18 x 18.5 all around - I have a 2007 E550 Sport with 4-Matic so I choose to run the same all around as it comes from factory. The best size tire for price and fitting on 8.5" wide wheels are 245s. 245/40/18s were what I ran before I went to 255/35/18s for a tad more width. The lower the sidewall height the more expensive it usually is to get them mounted at shops and all, and the more expensive the tire tends to be as well as risk of bending a wheel. So I would go for a 245/40/18 all around that will allow you to rotate.

As for the wheel color, I wouldn't go flat or gloss black I think gunmetal would look awesome. I would recommend Vossens as they look the best but they are very expensive, so maybe look towards Eurosports or Verde wheels. Berti_00 has a white E55 with gunmetal and machine face Verde V39 Parallax wheels that look amazing in my opinion, but I don't think those come in anything smaller than 19"

Thank you for those thoughts

AMGAffalterbach, I appreciate your toughts. I hve been trolling around the site and looking at some pics. I agree on the size you mentioned, 245. I will start browsing around. If I may ask, what tire brand are you currently using? Also, I read about KMAC camber kits...I would like to zero out my front camber and read that KMAC's may do the trick.... Nonetheless, this is a great site, full of information, when you know where to look and particulary, who answers the question...Thanks again...

Absolutely my friend! I am running Michelin Primacy MXM4 all season tires as I live in Colorado, they are great tires but if you are worried about price I would not go with them... $1200 for a set mounted and installed. The best tire out on the market right now is the Michelin Pilot Super Sport in my opinion, amazing grip and it will transform any car - but again it runs about the same price or higher depending on region of sale. Slightly below this would be the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3 (new) or I have heard the Hankook V12s are good summer tires. Depending on what you're looking for, I can give more specific advice but I am a Michelin fanboy. Don't cheap out on tires though, you drive a Mercedes - they are not light nor friendly with cheap tires like Goodyear (except the Eagle F1), Firestones, or Coopers.

If you want a good balance between price, longevity, and performance the Continental ExtremeContact is loved by a lot of people here on the forums and it comes in a 245 size. If you value more of a grand touring tire with very long life over performance, look at the new Michelin Defender

A note on camber adjustment, most people use the KMAC camber kit to return the camber to spec when the lower their cars as the suspension geometry traditionally changes when you lower the ride height of the vehicle. Unless you have an overwhelming reason !!!DO NOT!!! get the KMAC kit to zero out the camber. Why do you want to do this? For looks only? If so, you will ruin the handling of the car and make it potentially unsafe, as German cars traditionally run more aggressive camber and tow angles as they are meant to be autobahn cars. Camber helps with cornering, and wheels naturally tow out at high speeds therefore they are preset to counteract this. If you are worried about excessive camber, get an alignment and they should be around -1.4 degrees if I remember correctly. If you have a good reason to, check with a technician first as you may want to zero out camber for a reason I don't know of. Best of luck!
