Switched out the E55 grille for an aftermarket grille. I think it gives the front end a look similar to BOLD font. With the right set of wheels and drop it could work well on the car.

Not bad. It makes the grille look bigger because of the wider intervals of the fins. Great find mate!

Thanks! It was a way to imagine what the facelift grille would look like on my car without getting a facelift / e63 bumper. But it looks like this will be as far as I get on the e. We are getting ready to sell it this fall as we intended to.

It was time to get a bigger car comfortable enough for two baby chairs. Driving a 2015 X3 now. I guess I can learn to love something with a little more tech, although there's still a special feeling driving around the E once in a while. Refined, that's the best way to describe that feeling.

THESE are the grille mods people should be doing, looks excellent! Sorry to hear about the sale though, but I get where you're coming from. All for a good reason

I have never seen a grille for pre-facelift with 4 slats before. Very subtle but tasteful.

Thanks AMG and JDM for the kind words. I was browsing google images and came across a very unclear image of an e500 with this exact grille. After heavy eBay searching I miraculously ran into a seller who offered a variety of pre and post facelift grilles for the W211. When I received my grille my initial thought was uh oh, that seller mislabeled the chassis code because it looked too big. Luckily it was the right size, but with a bit of an optical illusion!
