Question E320 Elegance suspension vs Avantgarde suspension

Hi all

The Australian E320 comes in either Elegance or Avantgarde trim/features. Can anyone please clarify what the sport suspension rides like in comparison to the default/basic suspension?

I'm not referring to Airmatic DC Suspension but Sport suspension.

The dealers here don't have a E320 with Sports suspension... thanks for any advice?

Regards
Adrian

Hi Adrian- the sports suspension in my Avantgarde is definitely stiffer than the Elegance I tested. It's not harsh by all means (which is what I find my SLK to be), but before my E class, I was used to the typical Mercedes plush ride in my S class.

The car also sits 10-20 mm lower than the Elegance. You tend to feel more bumps in the road, especially the numerous pot-holes in Sydney.

Just the other day, I managed to drive into one, and it made the whole car shudder....it didn't sound or feel good, something I'm sure my S-class wouldn't have done.

Handling wise, I haven't had the change to throw my car around, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was a bit flatter around corners.

Hope this helps. Just my $0.02.
