I have a 2004 E500 4Matic wagon. I have recently been unable to bring up the passenger side seat back using the switch on the door. It is now fully reclined. It would move back, but not up. All the other seat movement functions work.
This happened once before, and recall that there was a simple fix, which I THINK was to move it all the way back, and then it would work again. I hope I am remembering wrong, because that is not doing the trick. Anyone here know what to do?
Possibly relevant: This started while the right rear seat was folded forward. It continued after I put that seat back up, but was still getting a warning in the instrument cluster that the right rear seat was not locked. I slammed it back again, and the warning went away, but the front seat still won't work.
ALSO: The indicators in the instrument cluster for turn signals and high beam no longer work. The actual lights on the body work, just not the indicators. They also don't come on if hazard lights are turned on.
This started immediately after the right rear air spring was replaced. Coincidence?

With regards to the pasanger side seat issue----have you used the memory function to return the seat to what ever was saved??
I would also check the rear SAM for any blown fuses!
I would also suggest you refer to your owners manual for the collision avoidiance function of the front passanger seat.
Other than that----------------it's the hook up to DAS Xentry for fault finding!!

Thanks
It did not occur to me to try the presets. Will do that when I get home tonight... and will see if the mechanic who took the RR apart has the appropriate code scanner.
Thanks for the ideas.

Quick tip: Tap on the motor of the seat (w/screw driver) and hopefully it should start sliding. It happened to me once long time ago and it solved the issue....I know weird.
